Microsoft Edge on Android: The Frustrating URL Input Issue That Made Me Switch

I have used Microsoft Edge browser since the release of Microsoft Windows 11. This is a great chromium-based browser. But, today I’m making change to Firefox due to URL Input Issue.

Microsoft Edge browser that I’m referring to is 133.0.3065.67 (Official build) (64-bit) which is the latest version at the time of writing.

Also, I have seen in few weeks that Microsoft is playing around with the Copilot button where sometimes it went to top and sometimes it went to the centre bottom. This is troublesome and due to this, I’m moving to use Deepseek instead of Copilot.

In this screenshot, the Copilot button is at the centre bottom. But, sometimes it is not located there.

I also experience that sometimes WordPress Plugin Directory is unable to load on Microsoft Edge when I have logged with my WordPress.org account. But, I didn’t experience the same with Firefox.

Another point is, Microsoft Edge didn’t have it’s own dedicated networking settings for Proxy like Firefox. As a geek, I need that flexibility that Firefox provides.

I use this settings so that my browsing experience is smooth by having only one single dedicated IP. I use my server ssh to set the tunneling. ssh -D 9090 -C -N -f <ssh server name>

Now, I’m using Mozilla Firefox on both my Android phone and MacBook.
