5 Things I learnt from WP Meetup @ Raja Tun Uda Library

I attended a WordPresss Meetup event held at Raja Tun Uda Library on Saturday, 1st February 2025. There are 2 topics have been discussed where the first topic is about design and the second topic is about SEO.

1. Interlinking is important for SEO

One of the important element in SEO is to make Interlinking. Interlinking is making contextual link inside post content. That’s means, if a specific post did have related topic with previous post, link it to create interlinking. This will boost your SEO score.

As an example, if you are writing an article about How to make WordPress faster and also How to reduce Time To First Byte for WordPress (where both article are actually discussing related topics), ensure that both article are linked with each other.

2. Public speaking is the best B2B (Business to Business) marketing channels

According to Firstpageage, Public Speaking have 856% return on investment (ROI). So, if you are doing sales where your target customer is business, Public Speaking is simply the simplest, cheapest and fastest way to promote your business.

You need to present your ideas and let people aware of your business. Engage with events and be a speaker. This will make people know you and indirectly giving confidence. People will feel comfortable as they will think that they know who can refer to with your presence in the public.

Considering this, maybe it is the time to consider speaking at the next WordPress Meetup? 😎

3. 15% of daily search in Google is New.

Google loves content and Google wants to be able to answer to all questions.

That’s means, when a new question is asked to Google, 15% of it Google didn’t know the answer. Hence, if you writing niche with accurate information, and technical, this will greatly help boost your SEO ranking.

A good content helps Google to learn new things and answer questions. So, content is king! 👑

4. What is a Design System?

Design system is a Collections of Libraries, Styles, Guidance & Best Practices. It will serve as a tool to close the gap between designers and programmers.

Without design system, both designers and programmers difficult to work together and friction is very likely to occur since design is difficult to code. So, it is crucial to have a design system for faster and more efficient development, faster design turnaround and reduced learning curve.

5. Website is useful for conversation starters.

I agree with this idea. Usually what most people will do is to visit the company website first before meeting in person to study what the company do.

So, if you are doing business, make sure that you have website so that people can have rough idea about the product and services you provides.

Website may not function to convert prospect to customer. But, website can certainly be used as conversation starters that later will lead to conversation (Email/WhatsApp/etc).
